| David Alvarado Transiguration EP This five track double pack from David Alvarado breaks down the boundaries of 4/4 house music and strips the genre right down to its bones. Very much a listening experience, tracks like ‘Aire’ and ‘Luna’ have an almost soundtrack quality. Taking a cue from the Basic Channel school of minimalism, these tracks are designed for a certain space and time. The production envelopes you as the ethereal, dubwise sounds and hypnotic drum patterns weave their way through each track. David Alvarado has produced music for many years now, delivering material for Josh Wink’s Ovum label, Yoshitoshi, Plastic City and Peacefrog, to name but a few. His career took flight with his own Bomb label, run through John Acquaviva & Richie Hawtin’s Intellinet operation in the early 90’s. Other material for Definitive and Stickmen ensured the LA resident’s foothold in the music scene. Mix CDs for Guidance and DMC have also showcased his engaging DJ style.
