Âme confirm COAST2COAST May release The COAST2COAST series proudly adds Germany’s Âme to the roster (following in the footsteps of Ron Trent, Quentin Harris and Kerri Chandler). Frank Wiedemann & Kristian Beyer show us just why they are being hailed as the best production & DJ team on the planet right now, with a sophisticated and well programmed DJ mix that teases and touches with dubby house sounds, intricate minimal techno and soulful instrumentals. There genre-breaking "Rej" track from 2005 was perhaps one of the biggest underground records that year, and was subsequently licensed to Defected from Sonar Kollectiv, the German label that the guys began honing their sound for. Kristian and Frank first met up through Kristian's recordshop "Plattentasche" in Karlsruhe , Germany. Frank, already experienced with his former project Soul FC (release on FSOJ), and Kristian, being a scientific music nerd in a positive way, one day decided to tweak the knobs together. Kristian has always been turned on by the voices shouting out of motor city, by the likes of Moodyman, Underground Resistance and Carl Craig as well as the New York City Sound of Blaze and Metro Area, whereas Frank’s broad spectrum of influences ranges from Chateau Flight, John Tejada over to IG Culture and Jazzanova. Brilliant remixes for the likes of Roy Ayers, Rodamaal, Akabu and Ferrer & Sydenham have put Âme on the production map, and the duo have been tearing up nightclubs with their no-nonsense, intelligent house sounds all over the World of late. Âme's Coast2Coast comes out on May 14th on double CD (CD1 mixed & CD2 unmixed tracks), and two double unmixed vinyl LPs. In the meantime, check Frank & Kristian at the following destinations this month; Mafia, Bologna, IT (April 13), Club 11, Amsterdam NL (14), Suicide, Ulm GER (20), Robert Johnson, Frankfurt GER (21), Madame Butterfly, Ferrara IT (24), Loft, Barcelona ES (27), Fabric, London UK (28)

Audio Soul Project's "Community" comes back round again... Greg Dowling & Shane Johnson are Fish Go Deep, and have been involved with the deep house scene since time, passionately, and without media attention, promoting house music in Ireland and being responsible for enticing a who’s who of house DJs to their club Sir Henrys (which sadly shut down a couple of years back). 2006 saw their dedication pay off, with the release of “The Cure & The Cause” on Defected, which hit the national Top 40 thanks, in part, to its great Dennis Ferrer remix. Most recently, the FGD guys have had a release on the ultra cool Innervisions label with “ESL”, as well as well received remixes of Kerri Chandler’s “The Promise”.

Peace Division remix Kerri's classic "Bar A Thym" Originally out on NRK/King Street in 2005, “Bar A Thym” clocked up chart positions, radio and club plays across the genres, with house, techno and even breaks DJs heralding the track as one of the best pieces in recent years; it’s heavyweight cowbell driven percussion and truly anthemic synth line has been driving club crowds wild over the last couple of years, uniting DJs of all musical persuasions. It also helped Kerri Chandler kick-start his career, with multiple releases and remixes since for labels like Defected, Soul Heaven, Freerange and Deeply Rooted under his belt recently. Vinyl copies of Bar A Thym (Peace Division Soft Heavy Remix) will be available shortly at the NRK webshop, and on Beatport very soon. In the meantime, check out the Original & Tom Middleton mixes, still doing the business on the floors to this day!

Faith/Strobelight Honey is the brainchild of London house stalwarts Terry Farley, Bill Brewster, Roual Galloway, Jimmy P, Leo Elstob, Dave Jarvis and Stuart Patterson. Together the crew are responsible for the Faith parties. Having know each other through various vague and possibly illegal connections (the charges were eventually thrown out of court), they came together to A unique concept of club nights and a quarterly fanzine, Faith epitomizes everything that makes the underground music scene so special. The fanzine fuses articles on those who helped shape the music (Levan, Knuckels, Hardy etc.) and those who carry it forward together with humorous cartoons, lists , charts and photo galleries.
